Support for Ordinands

Training for ordination can be exciting and fulfilling, as you continue to discern your vocation in the Church. However, it can also be difficult. Some ordinands struggle with their finances or their health to some degree, and so, if you find yourself in this situation, please known that you are not alone, and that many sources of support are available.

The first port of call in times of need should usually be your DDO, acting on behalf of your sending bishop, who has pastoral responsibility for your during your training. They are often best placed to advise on what help is available and to support you in accessing it. Your training institution (TEI) should also have welfare support available.

If, however, you feel unable to approach your DDO or your TEI for whatever reason, other, independent sources of support are available. We have listed as many as possible in the following pages:
